Teacher - CTE Welding

School Year 2024 -2025

Position Type: 10-Month

• 187 Teacher Days
• 15 Professional Development Days (7:45 am - 12pm)
• 6 Rest, Refocus, Recharge (no classes)

Qualifications:

• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate in the following:
• Secondary: Industrial Arts, Industrial Technology; and/or
• Technology Education: Grades 6-12; and/or
• Trade and Industrial Education: Grades 6-12 with appropriate work approval as identified on the certificate; and/or
• Trade and Industrial Education Grade 8-12 with appropriate work approval as identified on the certificate;and/or
• Vocational Trades and Industry with appropriate work approval as identified on the certificate
• Experience Teaching courses in the following CTE career Cluster(s) preferred:
• Manufacturing with Welding emphasis
• Required:
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with three years of full time wage earning experience with in the past eight years in Welding occupation; or
• An associates degree from a recognized an accredited institution with three years of full time wage earning experience within the past eight years in Welding occupation; or
• High school diploma and five years of full time wage earning experience with the past eight years in a Welding occupation.
• Required
• Currently or willing to obtain an AWS Certified Welding Educator and Certified Welding Examiner certification to perform visual and/or bend tests to support student certification.
• Preferred
• Current in the use of GMAW, SMAW, GTAW and CNC Plasma processes.
• Applicants going through an Alternative Certification Plan must show proof of passing the content exam and meet the guidelines mentioned above.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Teaching courses form the following CTE career clusters:
• Manufacturing with welding emphasis
• Manage an active welding program with live work
• Direct and evaluate the learning experiences of the pupils in all activities sponsored by the school, and provide guidance to the pupil in which promote his/her welfare and his/her proper educational development.
• Maintain accurate pupil accounting records in compliance with local and state requirements.
• Complete all TEA approved training requirements for all assigned CTE courses.
• Perform all other duties assigned by the campus Principal and Director of Career and Technical Education Programs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,405.56 - $62,500.00 per year
