We are looking to hire a dynamic Public Relations Coordinator to join our company. In this role, you'll be supporting the company's media communications by drafting press releases, organizing PR events, and maintaining good relationships with clients and stakeholders. The Public Relations (PR) Coordinator supports the implementation of strategic public relations initiatives aimed at enhancing the company's brand reputation and driving awareness Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Media Relations: Cultivates and maintains relationships with members of the media and external partners to secure media coverage across various platforms
Press Release Writing and Distribution: Develops engaging content for items such as press releases, media pitches, sponsored editorial pieces that align with the company's messaging and objectives
Event Coordination: Assists in planning and executing PR events, including press conferences, campaign launches, out-of-market media events, and media interviews
Monitoring and Reporting: Monitors media coverage and industry trends, and prepares regular reports on PR activities, including coverage metrics and analysis
Collaboration: Works closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, social media, Sales, and Corporate Communications, to ensure PR initiatives are integrated with overall marketing strategies
Brand Ambassadorship: Serves as a brand ambassador, representing the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
Assist PR and Communications team with logistics and media relations as it pertains to company initiatives/events, media familiarization tours, and/or media interviews
Cultivating strong relationships with external partners, media outlets, producers, editors and journalists to ensure efficient communication and maximize media coverage
Maintain an internal database of external partners as well as local, regional, and national media contacts
Monitor and track secured coverage, media inquiries, notable media outreach efforts, and other defined KPIs
Develop monthly agency/internal department reports for the PR/Communications team
Draft media alerts, press releases, and coordinating the development of press kits
Provide copywriting as needed for marketing/creative/editorial needs
Assess PR and media relations activities against set budget
Other duties and special projects as required

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
3 years of experience working in public relations or external communications. (Tourism or hospitality experience a plus.)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proactive and creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and building relationships
Strong awareness of AP style guidelines for news writing
Experience using PR software tools such Cision, Muckrack, Burrelles, Meltwater, etc
Understanding of PR/media relations techniques (including pitching, drafting of media alerts/press releases, etc.)
Excellent written, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to ensure needs and objectives are met
Knowledge of MS Office Suite and project management tools such as Monday.com
Relationships with the media are preferred, but not required
Professional working proficiency in Spanish is a plus
