JOB DESCRIPTION:Summary:
SMASHotels is seeking a passionate, service-focused Housekeeping Assistant Manager for its' one-of-a-kind luxury, lifestyle hotel that celebrates a creative class of consumers seeking artistically curated travel, dining and hospitality experiences.
Hotel EMC2 is a unique property located in the heart of Chicago's Magnificent Mile and is a member of Marriott's elite luxury Autograph Collection Hotel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
JOB SUMMARY: Assist in the direction of all hotel housekeeping operations and supervise personnel
to ensure the housekeeping department operates in accordance with established guest service
expectations and compliance with Marriott Brand Standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Interviews, selects, trains, schedules, coaches and supports associates, ensuring they perform
in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with SMASHotels core
values.
Understands and maintains brand standards and requirements related to Housekeeping, which
includes assisting in QA, Marriott Brand Audits.
Inspects guest rooms, public areas and grounds for cleanliness, appearance and safety.
Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services and resolve guests' complaints and
concerns.
Observe and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to policies
and procedures.
Assist to maintain an accurate inventory by submitting proper count of linen/terry and supplies.
Coordinate with laundry services to ensure linen/terry is adequate to meet business needs.
Handle guest concerns in a timely manner, conduct proper follow-up if needed, and ensure to
notify management.
Assist to handle employee relate issues or concerns in a timely manner and compliance with
SMASHotels policies and procedures.
Complies with SMASHotels internal audit standards pertaining to key control and risk
management areas (I.E. lost and found, key control, guest room safety).
Contribute to maintain positive working relationships with vendors.
Practices safe work habits; follow MSDS and OSHA standards; wear protective safety
equipment and participate in safety committees as directed.
Assists in the completion of employee performance appraisals on time maintaining objectivity
and sincerity.
Responsible for follow-up, systems tracking, logging, and shipping of all items turned into
"Lost and Found" to ensure guest satisfaction through on-going communication with the
guests.
BEO ensure to attend meeting, update the calendar/binder, and make proper agreements to
set-up/break down meeting rooms in a timely manner.
Base on business demands and/or emergencies you will be expect to clean rooms.
Walk through assistance in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.
Assist to manage labor standards; reviewing schedule daily to ensure labor is adequate located.
Assist with payroll by ensuring all missed punch forms are fill before pay period close.
Assist with all admin relate task such as filling documentation and assisting employees with HR
forms.
Contribute to keep a good record once orders are received and ensure to notify management.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
