Job Overview

The Operations Manager will maintain and improve processes meet organization standards. Additionally, the role will oversee daily activities in the bakery and demonstrate a proven success managing multiple departments toward maximum productivity. Increase our operational efficiency in Production, Engineering, Shipping, Receiving and Sanitation Departments.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the bakery.
• Maintain quality assurance protocols within departments.
• Achieve and improve organizational KPI's.
• Actively pursue strategic and operational objectives provided by the plant manager.
• Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget
• Track staffing requirements, hiring, interviewing new employees as needed.
• Lead, motivate, and support a team of department managers within a time-sensitive and demanding environments, including setup and implementation of development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution.
• Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per case, eliminate errors.
• Manage and help continually reduce consumer complaints.
• Oversee inventory management.
• Conduct department budget reviews and report cost plans to Plant Manager.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of manufacturing and operations experience to include 2 years' previous experience in manufacturing operations management required
• Previous cGMP experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's in Engineering, Food Science or other closely aligned field combined strongly preferred
• Strong department budget development and oversight skills required
• Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of bakery leadership required
• Trained in conflict management and problem solving.
• Knowledge of general software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required

• Ability to travel 30%
