Hospice of NW Ohio is Hiring a Payroll Administrator Near Perrysburg, OH

Qualification Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Human Resources preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience processing payroll; healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal payroll laws.
  • Working experience of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Understands and is committed to the hospice philosophy.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Reviews timesheets for accuracy and appropriate approvals. Provides assistance to employees and supervisors. 
  • Accurately and timely processes payroll according to the established payroll schedule. Identifies and resolves issues to ensure accurate paychecks. 
  • Accurately enters employee status changes, deductions, and any other changes affecting employee payroll.
  • Records employees into the appropriate GL accounts. Prepares reports as needed.
  • Responsible for quarterly and year-end tax filings including W-2 forms.
  • Processes Health Savings Account and 403b deposits within established timeframes.
  • Terminates employees in the payroll system and cancels the enrollment of any agency benefit plans. Ensures the accurate payout of vacation hours. 
  • Assists with the onboarding of new employees and their learning of the timekeeping system in orientation.
  • Assists with the compliance of ACA reporting and COBRA requirements.
  • Processes health benefits, disability plans, flex spending plans, disability plans and retirement savings plan benefits/loans through payroll, insurance carriers and plan providers to ensure accurate record keeping and payroll deductions. Ensures the accurate entry of enrollment and terminations. 
  • Performs other Human Resources work including benefit statement reconcilement, HRIS data entry, filing, and any other work as needed.
  • Assists with annual open enrollment as it affects payroll changes related to employee elections and rates.
  • Assists with special projects and HR initiatives including but not limited to staff recognition programs and wellness initiatives.
  • Responds to employee questions and/or concerns in a timely manner. Researches and resolves issues; follows-up with employees and/or supervisors as appropriate.
  • Responsible for learning and utilizing technology made available by the agency to increase efficiency, communication and performance of duties.
  • Attends staff meetings and completes all mandatory training.
  • Holds in strictest confidence all employee information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
