Hoshizaki America, Inc. is Hiring a Mechanical Engineering Manager Near Griffin, GA

Oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. Ensures the engineering team and other departments work together cohesively. Will monitor production and spend a lot of time on the production floor. Responsible for the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Manages engineers and technicians who evaluate machinery, plan and develop projects, work with production, improve processes, reduce waste, and improve quality.
  • Responsible for setting direction for the team, establishing goals and objectives, and establishing and executing a plan to achieve these and other key company objectives.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and oversees engineering projects. Ensures that projects are completed on-time, within budget and according to project specifications. Identifies potential issues and applies resources to resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Promotes safety in the workplace, quality in our product, improve production efficiency, and implement cost saving activities.
  • Oversees the research and development of new processes and procedures as well as assist implementation of projects.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, coaching, and technical direction to engineers and supporting staff. Sets employee performance objectives, conducts performance reviews and recommends pay actions.
  • Monitors and approves department expenditures and budgets relating to projects and activities.
  • Participates and leads high level cost reduction and product support projects.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitor progress and adjust as needed
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
