Experience Desired: Civil CAD Technician (minimum 1 years’ experience):
Applicant must have extensive working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D including the ability to produce
terrain models, alignments, and storm and sewer profiles and the ability to prepare site, utility, grading
and drainage plans, stormwater, and erosion and sediment control plans. Applicant will be expected to
be able to produce construction documents to the highest quality standards.
The applicant must have the ability to understand Civil 3D template maintenance, Civil 3D dialogue
controls, styles, and parts lists.
The applicant must be proficient in production and understanding of Civil Construction Documents.
They must be able to support design staff and have experience in working within a set man-hour
budget and meet required deadlines and milestones.
The applicant must be proficient with excel spreadsheets, word document, and other software
programs necessary to prepare engineering and design documents.
The applicant will be required to be able to contribute to CAD template maintenance, details, and CAD
standards updates.
The applicant must understand 2016 Green Book Erosion Control methodology and NPDES checklist
requirements and be able to utilize these guidelines to produce erosion and sediment control plans.
The applicant must be able to research and obtain standards/codes required by clients and
jurisdictions and ensure drawings comply these standards/codes.
The applicant must be able to perform quality control checks of CAD drawings for completeness,
accuracy, and quality.
The applicant must organize/maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related
information in a logical and well-structured manner.
The applicant must be proactive in researching and investigating programs to improve and enhance
their overall skill set and be beneficial to the company.
The applicant must be able to communicate expended man hours vs production completion to the
project PM to assure communication on project completion.
Education and Experience:
• Successful completion of high school diploma or equivalent
• Associates Degree from an accredited college or technical school a plus
• Minimum of five years’ experience in production of CAD drawings for a variety of civil
engineering projects – including but not limited to transportation, water and wastewater
distribution, water and wastewater process, hydrology, general site plan production, and
industrial site development including mass grading design
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong technology skills (i.e., CAD, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, etc.)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good practical design experience
• Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in team environment
• Detail oriented
