Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Operate all current and future equipment/job functions in the Cooking department and demonstrate a high level of competency on performance validation checks
  • Perform start-up inspections to ensure equipment is properly cleaned for production operation (i.e. allergen free inspections). Complete all required QRMP documentation
  • Perform quality analyses to verify product conformance to prescribed QRMP standards
  • Enter data into the Quality Suites system as required
  • Adjust process parameters as needed to achieve desired product quality. Note all changes
  • Calibrate and standardize any test equipment as required
  • Coordinate product requirements with Checker Drivers to ensure correct product is placed on the line for processing
  • Attend to machine breakdowns, identify necessary resources to repair and assist in troubleshooting to bring equipment back to operable condition
  • Perform minor maintenance/adjustments and interface with mechanics/EMT/ET
  • Utilize manufacturer's manuals and/or handbooks to obtain data and troubleshooting on the machinery operation
  • Perform sanitation on all processing equipment applicable to each position, including allergen-free clean ups and the cleaning of the honey roast coating drum
  • Keep bins properly identified, rotated, cleaned and stored. Utilize the inventory management system to ticket bins
  • Obtain supplies necessary for the operation utilizing work saver or forklift
  • Utilize the inventory management system to scan product prior to dumping
  • Direct nuts as instructed, from cookers to pack lines, bins or boxes, ensuring that nut types are not causing a cross-contact
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed timely and effectively in accordance with QRMP
  • Set-up and monitor metal detectors to the Can lines to ensure correct product is delivered to packaging
  • Use a computerized operator interface to make critical machine adjustments
  • Perform machine changeovers and set up with or without the use of tools
  • Follow product changeover procedures to ensure no product mixing or cross-contact occurs
  • Remove all oil stock and dump stock from the work area at the end of each shift
  • Document oil stock as required
  • Document work notifications on a computerized maintenance management system
  • Make gum/water solution and honey syrup solutions in accordance with QRMP
  • Hang salt/sugar bags and perform transfers utilizing the inventory management system
  • Provide break relief for any operation within the department as assigned by the Supervisor/Team Leader
  • Operate trash and cardboard compactor
  • Immediately contact Supervisor/Team Leader/Maintenance representative when any product/process does not meet QRMP standards
  • Conduct and support plant culture initiative through active participation in QRMP and plant CI efforts
  • Support plant high performance culture and continuous improvement programs through active participation in QRMP and plant productivity programs
  • Comply and actively participate in all safety and environmental ORM policies, procedures and programs
  • Comply with all QRMP program requirements including HACCP and GMPs
  • Perform area housekeeping duties
  • Perform all tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Team Leader
  • Adhere to the QRMP site rules
  • Adhere to all QRMP ways of working, processes and procedures associated with your role
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Must be capable of identifying all types of nuts
  • Must understand allergen/cross-contamination issues associated with nut processing.
  • Must be able to obtain a license to operate powered industrial vehicles (i.e. forklifts, work savers)
  • Must have and maintain a good attendance record
  • Must be TQR qualified in all positions
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Must be computer literate and capable of learning department systems
  • Must be able to lift/move 50 pounds
