Job Overview:

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Clean and sanitize the following equipment in accordance with allergen free and established cleaning standards to ensure on-time start-ups: (1) Cookers and associated equipment (i.e. Weigh belt feeders, coating drums, conveyors, syntrons, etc.) (2) Nut Distribution System (Mezzanine) (3) Honey Batch System & MAC Room (4) Glazing & Salting Line (5) Off-Line Blending (6) Operate the automatic barrel washing system and (7) Product bins. For all equipment, this includes acquiring chemicals, cleaning and sanitizing the machines, and reporting any mechanical or electrical problems with this equipment to supervision.
  • Operate Cookers (i.e. including start-up, general operation, and shut down). Perform all related TQR checks.
  • Start-up Mezzanine when required.
  • Complete assigned periodic cleaning tasks and track on periodic cleaning charts.
  • Operate automatic barrel washing machine to include: cleaning the machine, acquiring chemicals, and reporting any mechanical or electrical problems with this equipment to supervision.
  • Operate a forklift or pallet jack to move bins, barrels, or equipment, needed to perform the work.
  • Operate and maintain powered scrub machines to clean up spills, and to aid in removing liquids from the floors.
  • Operate the high pressure water system to include: turning on the system, monitoring the host water heater and resetting it when necessary, operating rinse, foam, and sanitizing stations, and ensuring issues are reported to supervision.
  • Use high-pressure air systems (i.e. Compressed air, dry ice, etc.)
  • Use necessary cleaning agents and appropriate cleaning equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize Merrick Scales and associated equipment, including but not limited to pipes, syntrons, and conveyors, glazing drum, box dumpers, fruit declumpers and drains. 
  • Remove and reinstall access doors/panels to weigh feeders and associated metal detectors, drivers, shafts, motors, chutes, belts and associated pipes & equipment.
  • Remove meal accumulation from all surfaces of X-Force conveyors and ensure proper disposal.
  • Clean inside and outside of the weigh feeders and associated detectors, drives, shafts, motors, chutes, belts and associated pipes & equipment.
  • Clean all department infrastructure to include but not limited to restrooms, offices, labs, hand wash stations & water fountains, stairwells, break rooms, overheads over equipment to include lights, pipes, and air ducts. Replace soap and paper products and remove scrap and salvage nuts to designated areas.
  • Communicate to supervision in all matters pertaining to safety, equipment function, and inventory of supplies of chemicals prior to running out.
  • Support plant high performance culture and continuous improvement programs through active participation in QCDSM and plant productivity programs.
  • Comply and actively participate in all safety (KSRMP) and environmental (KEMS) policies, procedures and programs. May serve on KSRMP team.
  • Comply with all QCMS program requirements including HACCP and GMPs.
  • Perform area housekeeping duties.
  • Perform all tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Must be able to move/Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Fork Lift License Required
  • Must become TQR qualified
  • Must have and maintain a good attendance record
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
