Minimum Training and Experience:

High School Diploma and equivalent of one (1) year experience in a maintenance position, preferably in a health care or residential setting. Must hold a current, valid North Carolina Driver’s License and have a clean driving record.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinates with respective supervisors, stores medical, housekeeping and kitchen supplies for Atrium, Respite, Arches, and Administration in a proper and safe manner
• Under the guidance of the Director of Environmental Services performs general maintenance of all buildings including painting, plumbing, lighting, repairs, cleaning of grounds, cleaning of facilities, etc..
• Mops and buffs floors weekly as scheduled.
• Responds to emergency maintenance needs as able or identifies and secures someone able to resolve the issue (i.e. Director of Environmental Services, other staff; call professional repair person.)
• Cleans vans monthly. Checks vans weekly (i.e. oil, tires. etc.)
• Unloads vehicles delivering supplies.
• Ensures trash is picked-up on campus and is properly disposed of.
• Performs other duties as necessary

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift, push, pull and move seventy-five (75) pounds.
• Full range of motion (above the head, to the side, front and back) is required with hands, arms and shoulders.
• Should be able to operate under the following outside: heat, cold, wind, grass/weeds, sun, etc.
• Should be able to safely handle: various cleaning supplies, blood/air borne pathogens and other potentially dangerous materials.
• Must be able to go up and down stairs.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, and push.
