Horizon International Ltd. has been trading under the name of Hi-London since 2006, offering English language tuition in a fun, natural environment to families with Children and Teens. The English Teaching Assistant will support an English Teacher of the Children’s (ages 5–11) or Teen (ages 12–18) class.

Horizon International USA LLC, based in NYC, has been in operation since 2014 as Hi-New-York. Hi-New-York programs are run in the same way as Hi-London programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist Teacher with lesson preparation, such as organising materials and resources needed.
• Assist students with reading, writing and group exercises.
• Support Teacher during excursions, interacting with the students and ensuring the safety of students when travelling to and from venues.
• Offer feedback to the Teacher regarding each student’s progress and assist with correcting students’ work.

Qualifications and Personal Qualities

• Qualifications to teach in a primary or secondary school or to teach English as a foreign language is an advantage.
• Experience working with young learners ages 5–18.
• Comfortable working in a fluid environment outside the classroom.
• Energetic (will be out and about with the students for most of the day).
• Having an approved Enhanced DBS check or willing to apply for a new check.
• Right to work in the US.

Job Type: Temporary

Salary: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 21 per week
