IIE Organization is Hiring a Remote Advisor, Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program (Hybrid)

Job Description:

Monitors and advises a medium to large caseload of (up to and possibly over 250) participants coming into the United States. Communicates frequently with participants, monitoring their program compliance, academic or professional progress, and skills development. Handles all emergency situations within assigned caseload, working with the grantee, the partners and their manager to monitor and resolve situations while keeping the sponsor updated. Builds networks with institutional partners and IIE constituents to ensure participant success.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as the main point of contact for a medium to large caseload of (up to and possibly over 250) participants and host institutions.
  • Monitors, tracks, and reports on participant academic or professional progress, conduct, well-being, and program compliance.
  • Applies J-1 visa regulations and program policy to navigating participant circumstances, providing appropriate guidance and identifying potential issues
  • Provides emergency support, connecting participants to local resources and coordinating follow-up, as necessary. Monitors and tracks grantees throughout an emergency process, providing regular updates to the manager. (In emergency situations Advisors should be available 24/7).
  • Maintains participant data in CRM, following established processes.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of regional and global events, as necessary.
  • Compose and edit participant grant documents, ensuring accuracy in grant amounts and payment schedules.

The Institute of International Education (“IIE”) has a hybrid work environment that allows team members a combination of in-office work and telework at any of the locations listed above.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in order to apply a working knowledge of the theories and principles in a specialized field or work discipline.
  • Requires at least two years of related work experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of international participants and ability to manage cultural and counseling issues.
  • Broad knowledge of assessment, training, and advising tools.
  • Project management, time management, and administrative skills.
  • Strong interest and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and clients, ability to exercise discretion on confidential matters.

Salary Range: $50,039 - $63,987. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
