Job Summary

This position will work with the Fulbright Events Team. The Fulbright Events team advances the mission of the Fulbright program by creating engagement and connections among Fulbright students, scholars, and professionals. Through our events, Fulbrighters from around the world connect with each other, engage with concepts and ideas, and further their professional development, academic success, and understanding of the United States and other countries.
The Project Manager implements seminars, conferences, orientations, and other events for the Fulbright Program. This position requires collaboration with other internal and external stakeholders. The Project Manager will oversee the work of coordinators, temporary employees, and volunteers on a project-by-project basis. This role will support the financial and operational health of the Fulbright Events, Outreach, Recruitment, and Communications teams.

Essential Functions:
  • Designs and implements the content and program structures for in-person and virtual orientations, events, trainings, workshops, and professional delegations.
  • Responsible for on-site event delivery, including leading an on-site team and volunteers.
Identifies and secures content providers, such as event speakers, trainers, and facilitators; site visits; and cultural activities.
  • Develops and monitors implementation plans, prepares progress reports, manages budget, participant needs and closeout activities.
  • Communicates with internal stakeholders, program sponsor, and third-party partners to ensure that each event is aligned with the Fulbright Program’s goals and needs.
  • Oversees the implementation of logistical needs including travel, accommodations, food and beverage services, oversight of ground transportation, venues, and all other meeting arrangements.
  • Manages attendee assignment process, through building and maintaining event registration sites and apps, using services like Cvent, AttendeeHub, Canvas, or online survey tools.
  • Creates and edits events materials with support from coordinators and administrators.
  • Supports the Assistant Director for Seminars and Orientations in creating budget templates, reviewing expenses, and reconciling event, outreach, and recruitment expenses.
  • Supports the Assistant Director for Seminars and Orientations in ensuring appropriate procurement practices are followed, including monitoring the status of departmental contracts, and providing guidance to other team members on IIE’s procurement policies.
Education and Work Experience:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of related work experience, or combination education and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience in international education, training, or events management.
  • Experience working with logistical arrangements, program content development, or facilitation of group training or orientation sessions.
  • Experience multitasking complex projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience inputting and analyzing data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • High attention to detail.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary Range:$60,547 - $70,386. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
