Claims Manager oversees and plans the daily work of claims specialty team in auto, property, and catastrophe units. Hires, trains, and coaches claims staff. Reviews and processes claim with greatest complexity for physical damage, bodily injury, casualty, property, litigation, and catastrophes.

Responsibilities:

• Provides claims settlements, defense, risk reserving and the implementation of established procedures and standards through quarterly audits of claim office operations. 
• Establishing a high customer focused culture which allows for retention and growth under company guidelines.
• Must have experience investigating and analyzing increasingly complex claims through settlement, arbitration, or trial.
• Directs and controls claims file creation, analysis, investigation, reserving, reporting and disposition of all claims within his/her settlement authority.
• Responsible for the analysis of metrics and results.
• Maintains awareness of all applicable state and federal regulations.
• May be responsible for field office audits and audit procedures.
• Good understanding of legal proceedings and ability to work with attorneys.
• Flexible in workload to handle crisis situations, last-minute changes, and immediate deadlines while handling stressful situations in a calm and logical manner.

Requirements:

• H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• College degree in related field, preferred.
• 5-8 years of claims processing for auto and or/homeowner lines of business
• 3-4 years of claims management
