HOPE HILL YOUTH SERVICES EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Location: 700 Hope Hill Road Hope, KY 40334
Department: Executive
Position Reports to: Board of Directors
FLSA Status: Exempt (salary)
Position Summary: The Executive Director (ED) will report to the board of directors and be responsible for implementing board approved policy. The ED will manage and direct all aspects of the organization and is responsible for achieving the organization's established goals and objectives. The ED will illustrate excellent oral and written communication, will display the ability to think critically, and exercise exceptional judgment in all business related matters. The ED will value diversity and work cooperatively with a diverse work force and client population. The ED will drive strategic planning, evaluate progress in meeting goals, and implement strategies that promote continuous improvement, maintaining an emphasis on fiscal integrity.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervises senior management staff, HR Specialist and Administrative Assistant
  • Implements board approved personnel policies when overseeing all employment decisions
throughout the organization
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Works with the board of directors in establishing short-term objectives and long-range goals
  • Provides regular written reports on the status of the organization’s operations to the board of
directors during board meetings and as requested
  • Adequately prepares for meetings and maintains electronic files of all internal meeting minutes and external meeting minutes as applicable
  • Implements a system of organization and effective planning that creates a culture of preparedness and professionalism
  • Oversees the organization’s financial structure, ensuring adequate and sound funding for the
mission and goals of the organization.
  • Aggregate, synthesize, and analyze data; use data from multiple sources to inform and evaluate
services.
  • Prepare and submit an annual budget that supports the goals and objectives of the organization
  • Reviews the financial results of all operations; compares results against organizational objectives and takes appropriate measures to correct unsatisfactory performance and/or results
  • Manages ongoing fundraising activities and implements a system of oversight that evaluates the
monetary and community impact of each activity, making changes and continually creating new
opportunities to generate funds and promote a positive image within the community.
  • Oversees all donor activities to include collection of data and an ongoing system for ensuring
current and potential donors are kept abreast of activities and goals accomplished as a result of
donations.
  • Research and apply for available grant opportunities that align with the mission of the organization
  • Develop and grow existing programs; implement new programs such as foster care and other
services that benefit FCI and youth services
  • Ensures ongoing compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local laws, rules, regulations,
and standards.
  • Serves as the organization’s representative for the board of directors, employees, donors,
consumers, government, and the public.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to benefit the mission of the organization.
Related Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent managerial and financial management; ability to lead the organization in all aspects of
business operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in small and large group settings; ability to prepare and present professional presentations
  • Thorough understanding of management and financial practices in all areas and phases of
business operations
Education and Experience:
  • Minimally a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services or business
administration from an accredited college or university with experience in the human service field
as it relates to working with children and families, supplemented by five (5) years of work
experience in a senior management position
  • Highly desirable – Master’s degree in business administration from an accredited college or
university with experience in the field of human services as it relates to working with children and
families, supplemented by three (3) years of work experience in a senior management position.
Specific Skills and Requirements:
  • Ability to type, manage email communication, create and manage spreadsheets, use databases,
work with word processing documents, and perform online research
  • Satisfactory pre-employment drug screen.
  • Satisfactory AOC and CANS screening
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
