Hop Meadow Country Club is seeking a skilled Banquet Captain to oversee our banquet events and ensure exceptional member experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, possess excellent team management skills, and thrive in a hospitality setting.

Key Responsibilities of the Banquet Captain:

-Set-up and breakdown of all function space Hold pre-shift meetings to review BEO and selective service standards.

-Lead banquet functions to ensure they run smoothly and efficiently.

-Communicates with the Banquet Manager or other assigned coordinator to ensure that all details have been planned for and met.

-Ensures that changes and further instructions are made in a timely manner.

-Ensures that appropriate quantities of China, glassware, silverware, linens, and other items are available for upcoming events.

-Checks room set-up prior to event and meets with Banquet Chef to confirm quantities of food items and timing of food leaving the kitchen.

-Ensures proper handling of all equipment (i.e. China, glassware, silverware, linen, and props) and their proper storage after use.

-Conducts random audits during functions to evaluate food and service. Ensures that food is served at appropriate temperature; food is placed properly on the table; sufficient food is available; and up sell opportunities are met.

-Regularly reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events.

-Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

-Ensure all closing duties for staff are complete before staff clocks out.

-Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale.

-Communicate with support staff and management.

-Performs other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

-Banquet and Event experience is preferred

-Reliable transportation

-Required to walk or stand for extended periods.

-Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs.

-Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.

-Must be 18 years old.

-Multi-tasking abilities

-Good oral communication skills

-Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.

-Ability to take initiative and perform job functions with diligence, speed, and accuracy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
