Summary
Professional, possessing prior experience in a similar industry, will prepare parts and materials for shipping, receive parts and materials for dealership, assure proper control of the parts inventory and related administrative functions, and maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse.
Essential Duties
· Stock and post incoming orders
· Assist Parts Manager in the processing of weekly stock orders
· Notify appropriate parties when special-order parts arrive
· Serve as back-up for Parts Manager for inventory functions
· Update electronic parts files
· Maintain up-to-date parts price list
· Compile stock control reports, such as consumption rate and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment
· Provide necessary information to appropriate person to allow prompt filing of parts warranties
· Review files to determine unused items, and recommend disposal of excess stock
· Ensure that credits are received for returned parts
· Return parts as needed, and remove from inventory after credit is received
· Return cores in a timely manner, and follow up to ensure receipt of credit
· Match purchase orders and invoices, approve, and forward to accounting office
· File company copies of parts counter invoices
· Perform cycle counts
· Assist in preparing for and performing annual parts inventory
· Assist in annual parts returns
· Assist with parts department telephone coverage
· Maintain an organized, clean warehouse
Education and/or Experience
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· One (1) year of experience in a similar position in the trucking, automobile, or heavy equipment field (2 years’ experience preferred)
· Competent in the use of computers (i.e.: MS Office and email)
· Strong working knowledge of dealer software - CDK
Language Skills
· Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
· Forklift certification preferred
· Driver’s license in good standing
Other
· At least 21 years old (for auto insurance purposes)
· Regular, reliable attendance
· Professional in demeanor and appearance
· Self-motivated and able to perform work independently, without close oversight
· Willing and able to work alone and as part of a team
