Human Resource Manager (ONSITE)

Position Overview: Reporting to the President, The Human Resources Manager originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce in a family-oriented culture. In addition, the HR Manager will play a key role in the day-to day administration of the Human Resource function.

Salary: $85,000-$90,000 based on experience

Weekly Responsibilities - 50%

  • Review timesheets, manage leaves and benefits utilizing Dominion Payroll System (DPS).
  • Assist in hiring coworkers by updating Job Descriptions with Managers and promptly posting, reviewing applications for production and performing pre-employment screening.
  • Onboard new hires, including preparation of all relevant documents and presentation materials.
  • Assist employees with timecard and health benefit questions and resolutions.
  • Send weekly communications to coworkers regarding new and leaving coworkers, company events, company goals.
  • Assist Managers & Team leads in developing best practice cross training matrixes for coworkers, reviewing production targets, disciplinary coaching, reviews and managing teams.
  • Attend weekly leadership team meetings; collaborates with leadership team regarding human resources and employee relations.
  • Manage facilities' housekeeper and oversee weekly cleaning schedule.

Monthly Responsibilities- 40%

  • Review and communicate updates to company policies and procedures and ensure enforcement.
  • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
  • Reviews all Performance Evaluations to unsure they match Job Descriptions and productions targets with Leads. Assists managers with detailing performance development plans; supports and advises Managers/Team Leads regarding employee issues, assist with growth plans & performance documents.
  • Leads company compliance with all existing governmental labor and legal reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and so forth. Maintains minimal company exposure to lawsuits
  • Attend the monthly Safety committee meetings.
  • Review benefit vendor/contract billing; benefit participation, COBRA, and flexible spending
  • Plan and prepare monthly employee engagement events, including cookouts, treats, awards.

Annually Responsibilities - 10%

  • Assist with 401k administration
  • Investigate and submit all workers' compensation claims upon accidents
  • Benefit annual enrollment communications and processing.
  • Ensure annual payroll end of year reporting and compliance.
  • Preparation and participation in audits; payroll, workers comp, 401k and/or support.
  • Ensure all legal postings are current and properly placed throughout the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of human resources, recruiting and benefit administration experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant on the executive management team that provides company leadership and direction.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a timely & independent manner
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit; ability to complete projects from problem identification to solution implementation
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development.
  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary during peak times
