Hooker Furniture is Hiring a Product Development Supervisor Near Bedford, VA
- Oversee the daily operations of the product development production team to ensure smooth operations and adherence to production schedules.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and other key departments to translate conceptual designs into manufacturable products, considering factors such as materials, building techniques, and cost effectiveness.
- Monitor production performance metrics, such as yield, cycle time, and quality, and take corrective actions as needed to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- Train and mentor team members to ensure consistent performance and skill development.
- Oversee sample development and testing, coordinating feedback and refine product designs and functionality.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost-savings, and quality enhancements through implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and equipment necessary for production.
- Troubleshoot production issues, address quality concerns, and implement corrective and preventative actions to resolve problems and prevent reoccurrence.
- Minimum of 3 years in production management (furniture industry experience a plus)
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve production targets and quality standards.
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment used in furniture production.
- Experience with production planning, scheduling, and ERP systems (D365 experience a plus)
- Ability to write and communicate clearly with audiences at all levels.
- Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) experience.
