Your Role

The Director, Finance will support the transformation of care delivery for Honest by both leading and contributing to efforts to form and improve robust financial processes and programs in a complex healthcare start up environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving for complex financial solutions and modeling needs including, but not limited to, tracking ROI, forecasting performance for various aspects of Honest's business, helping to solve for business development needs, and/or developing sustainable spending budgets.

Primary Functions Include:

  • Lead Honest's budgeting and cash forecasting workstreams, with end-to-end ownership of processes.
  • Leverage Honest's budget to create a strategic financial action plan and productivity reporting to enhance Honest's impact on patient care.
  • Collaborate with the Actuarial and Healthcare Economics teams on analysis to assess Honest's clinical programmatics impact on patient outcomes.
  • Assist the finance, operations, and strategy teams with data analysis.
  • Leverage a claim analysis data tool to stratify large data sets across different financial and outcomes metrics.
  • Partner with Market General Managers and Finance Managers to create external reporting packages tracking outcomes vs budgets and forecasts as well as to identify areas of performance opportunities.
  • Help to develop streamlined infrastructure with the Accounting and Performance teams to create efficient internal and external reporting packages to assess Honest's performance.
  • Serve as a project manager, organizing the team around major milestones and the individual tasks that lead up to those milestones.
  • Succinctly communicate outcomes of various project and analytics to the team and business leaders.
  • Create sophisticated presentations in PowerPoint using advanced skill sets.
  • Create forecasts for the business, including but not limited to budgets, cash forecasts, variance analysis, and 5 year outlooks.
  • Manage, lead, and develop analyst-level team member(s).
  • Perform other related responsibilities as required.

How You Qualify

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, healthcare administration or similar field is required; Masters of business administration or similar advanced degree is preferred
  • 7 years of experience in a financial planning and analysis position at a healthcare institution, with a preference on risk-based healthcare institutions; alternatively, experience at a financial institution or consulting firm with a focus on healthcare will be considered
  • Possess strong quantitative and communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Willingness to learn and interpret new systems (if not already known), including but not limited to NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, PowerBI, and Tableau
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Be a team player that is regularly engaging with department leaders outside of finance
  • Capable of communicating outputs from their quantitative work to Honest's business leaders
  • Enjoy manipulating large data sets to find answers to various strategic and financial questions and be innately curious about the work they are doing
