Job Summary: The Retail Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and exceptional customer experience of our bakery. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the front of house operations, this position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding service. The Retail Operations Managerwill lead a team, manage inventory, supervise shifts, maintain cleanliness standards, and uphold communication between front of house and kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Staffing and Training:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise front of house staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for improvement.

• Inventory and Order Supervision:

  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed to ensure adequate stock.
  • Supervise receiving and storage of incoming orders.

• Shift Supervision:

  • Oversee daily operations during shifts to ensure efficiency and quality service.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to front of house team members.

• Customer Service Representative:

  • Interact with customers to ensure their needs are met and address any concerns or complaints.
  • Foster a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for customers.

• Maintaining Stocking:

  • Ensure shelves, displays, and serving areas are properly stocked with fresh products.
  • Rotate stock and manage expiration dates to minimize waste.

• Maintaining Cleanliness of the Front of House & Bathrooms:

  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the front of house area and bathrooms.
  • Implement and enforce cleaning schedules for staff.

• Packing Orders:

  • Assist with packaging orders for customers, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met.

• Closing or Opening the Shop:

  • Open or close the bakery according to established procedures, including securing premises and handling cash transactions.

• Answering Phones:

  • Respond to incoming phone calls and inquiries, providing helpful and accurate information to customers.

• Communication with GM and Kitchen Manager:

  • Maintain open communication channels with the General Manager and Kitchen Manager to ensure alignment of front of house and kitchen operations.
  • Coordinate effectively to address any issues or concerns that may arise.

Qualifications:

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in inventory management and order supervision.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
