Department Manager- Construction Compensation and Benefits:

Department Manager- Construction Role and Responsibilities:

· Manage and maintain a team of Construction Coordinators, including even workload distribution.

· Monitor and assist in the development of Construction Coordinators on an ongoing basis.

· Ensure effective communication with HBI leadership and customers, on the status of projects.

· Provide training, guidance, direction, and expertise to Construction Coordinators.

· Ensure communication is consistent and precise throughout the entire Construction Department.

· Ensure the Material Coordinator is aware of the proper materials needed for each project.

· Ensure correct permits are obtained from local municipalities.

· Ensure locates are scheduled accurately and timely with Digger’s Hotline.

· Responsible for accurate understanding and utilization of customer units.

· Compile and distribute project documents. This includes but is not limited to prints, maps, and other instructions/documents.

· Direct construction crews on daily project priorities.

· Coordinate projects in advance to ensure a consistent workload for crews.

· Assemble a spreadsheet of emergency contacts for all areas where crews are working.

· Additional projects/tasks as directed by President and/or Executive Management.

Department Manager- Construction Required Skills, Experience, Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

· Minimum of 3 – 5 years of supervisory experience preferred.

· Minimum of 3 – 5 years of customer service experience preferred.

· Familiarity with the utility construction industry preferred.

· Valid, insurance-acceptable driver’s license.

· Must have excellent attention to detail.

· Read and accurately interpret geographical maps.

· Work independently as well as in a group.

· Multi-task and shift focus as priorities change.

· Execute basic functions of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Take a week-long rotation with the 24-hour construction emergency phone.

· Be flexible with hours worked.

· Must be able to act as a Construction Coordinator when needed.

Work Location: In Person -Green Bay Corporate Office
