Job Summary:

The Sales Associate reports to the Assistant Store Manager, performs various duties to serve customers, keeps store running safely and efficiently to achieve a profitable store location, and holds to Hollywood Feed’s #1 Policy, “Do what is right by the customer.”

Sales Associate Key Responsibilities:

• Greets and assists customers according to the Hollywood Feed customer service standards

• Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to thoroughly explain the store products to best meet the pet and customer needs

• Communicates openly and respectfully with supervisors and coworkers

• Effectively operates independently and as a part of a team

• Unloads and put away product deliveries

• Learns and accurately operate the Hollywood Feed point-of-sale system to:

• Open and Close Registers
• Create Customer Accounts
• Check out Customer Purchases
• Perform other inventory management duties including cycle counts

• Participates in all Hollywood Feed educational classes as scheduled

• Keeps up with basic weekly store maintenance duties involving cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, dusting, creating displays, price updates etc.

• Performs other duties as assigned

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Love and dedication to animals and their owners is an essential requirement for Hollywood Feed’s culture

• Excellent verbal communication skills

• Excellent active listening skills

• Excellent sales and customer service skills

• Extensive or quickly acquire knowledge of store products

• Ability to anticipate customers needs

• Ability to recommend store products to customers

• Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store point-of-sale system

• Valid driver’s license and a minimum of 2 years driving experience. (Time frame can include a learner's permit)

Physical Requirements:

• 18 years of age and older

• Physically able to lift 40 lbs repeatedly up to head height to stock shelves and put away deliveries multiple times a day

• Physically able to continuously bend, kneel, push, pull, reach, and twist multiples times a day

• Physically able to stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours

• Physically able to climb ladders multiple times a day to put up and access product for customers

• Meet the requirements of our Safe Driving Policy and be willing to drive our company owned Same Day Delivery Vehicle
