BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/TRAINING: High school diploma or equivalent preferred SKILLS:
• Ability to follow instructions and respond to resident requests for service and
assistance
• Self-motivated; be able to work with minimal supervision (evening staff)
• Knowledge of computer functions, including designated organization-approved electronic software
• Excellent communication skills with residents, staff, families and the public
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position

EXPERIENCE:
• Knowledge of general cleaning procedures preferred

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Understanding of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations
• Perform a variety of tasks such as dust mopping and damp mopping floors, vacuuming hallways, sitting areas and lobby
• Project work throughout the building including but not limited to stripping and refinishing, carpet shampooing, cleaning of wheelchairs and geriatric chairs in the Nursing Unit

• Demonstrate an understanding of the aging process, cognitive impairments, Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
• Report known or suspected incidents of fraud to the Administrator.
• Report any known or suspected unauthorized attempt to access facility’s information system.

• Maintain HIPAA compliance as well as confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee and operations data
• Exhibit concern for safety and well-being of staff, residents, families, and visitors

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Clean both dining rooms daily (Main and Wing 4 dining room), buffing as needed.
• Shampoo and bonnet all carpets throughout the building
• Scrub shower rooms, bathrooms, laundry rooms (tile) throughout the building
• Buff residents’ rooms in the Nursing Unit as well as the laundry rooms and bathrooms in the residential building
• Dust mop, damp mop and buff Beauty Salon
• Collect trash and soiled linen from the Nursing Unit; bring soiled linen down to the main laundry room
• Respond to pages from nursing
• Vacuum carpet throughout the building as needed
• Strip and refinish floors as needed
• Wash wheelchairs once a month
• Dust mop and damp mop hallways in the Nursing Unit daily (buff if needed)

OTHER DUTIES:
• Timely completion of all required in-services
• Must be present for at least one mandatory annual fire drill
• Must participate in annual N95 Fit Testing
• All other responsibilities that may be necessary to fulfill the duties associated with the position or as may be assigned

HOURS OF WORK:
• As per department schedule
• Weekends, if required
