Scope and General Purpose The Housekeeping Inspector will ensure quality of cleanliness and general maintenance of guest rooms and common areas according to Company and Brand Standards. This position will also help in the housekeeping office with any assigned projects. Essential Duties 1. Practices customer service behaviors, such as listening, initiative, responsiveness, cheerfulness, accommodation, courtesy, honesty, and professionalism 2. Demonstrates effective communication skills and helps ensure optimum communication between all shifts, departments, and management 3. Makes decisions in the best interests of the property and in compliance with all applicable policies and procedures 4. Demonstrates positive Team spirit providing assistance to other team members as necessary to achieve required standards of productivity and guest care 5. Inspect housekeepers' and housepersons' work to required standards to ensure quality checkouts/daily service in units and communal areas. 6. Assist in supervision, training, and motivation of housekeepers andhousepersons. 7. Report any maintenance issues toEngineering. 8. Assist with cleaning of rooms and/or covering for housepersons asneeded. 9. Report any theft and/or damage tomanagement. 10. Ensure the proper furnishing and literature is in all units. 11. Report room status to FrontDesk 12. Communicate needs or errors to Housekeepingstaff 13. Assist in any other projects assigned bySupervisor, Assistant, or Executive Housekeeper. 14. Respond to guest requests, questions and concerns in a friendly and hospitable manner to ensure guest satisfaction 15. Assist the Executive Housekeeper with daily departmentalduties. 16. Works to ensure safe use of commercial and household chemicals, biohazard material and all housekeeping equipment. 17. Report all unsafe conditionsimmediately 18. Knows all emergency procedures 19. Turns in all Lost & Found items, tags, and stores them as directed by management 20. Attends and participates in staff meetings, safety meetings, training classes, etc. 21. Abides by all policies and guidelines of Hawkeye Hotels and the brand 22. Keeps all company business confidential-either while on or off property Inspector pg. 2 23. Meet hotel’s standards for number of rooms inspected daily 24. Meet deadlines as required; meet multiple priorities of business demands 25. Performs all other duties assigned Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Preferable in the hospitality industry o Previous inspector or supervisory experience preferred • Availability o must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays • Communication Skills o Ability to read, write, and speak professionally in English o Professional communication with difficult people/situations • Mathematical Skills o Ability to add, subtract, multiply and, divide o Possess problem solving skills, attention to detail and execute tasks flawlessly • Technical Skills o Experience on Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer) Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
