Bartender

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Bartender

POSITION: Non-Exempt

RESPONSIBLE TO: Food & Beverage Manager

Scope and General Purpose

As a Bartender, you will be expected to promote menu items, take customers’ orders, serve food and beverages, prepare itemized checks, and accept/process payment while exceeding guests’ expectations following company and brand standards.

Essential Duties

1. Be present at bar at all times.
2. Provide prompt service to all patrons
3. Observe guests to confirm satisfaction and respond to any additional requests
4. Thorough knowledge of all menus, specials, wine lists, beer and drinks.
5. Display knowledge of drink recipes, drink and wine specials, merchandising.
6. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility by inspecting food quality standards and sanitation regulations, to include bar, bar walk-ins, bar reach-ins, and liquor storage areas.

7. Prepare and serve cocktail orders in a timely manner.
8. Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
9. Follow all Company internal audit procedures.
10. Set lounge and hors d’oeuvre tables, as assigned.
11. Stock bars at wells as assigned.
12. Attend required meetings.
13. Collect payment, operate the cash register and POS, and maintain proper cash handling procedures.
14. Balance bank and daily receipts.
15. Request proper I.D. from guests purchasing alcoholic beverages to ensure they are of legal drinking age.
16. Maintain all server certifications required by the local municipalities.
17. Detect and act upon customer inebriation as trained.
18. Fill requisitions to par levels.
19. Receive customers’ orders and relay them to the kitchen promptly and accurately.
20. Perform opening and closing duties and complete assigned stocking and cleaning on a daily and weekly basis.
21. Assist clearing and resetting of tables at conclusion of meals ensuring that the restaurant is kept immaculate.
22. Address and resolve guest complaints and inform management
23. Abides by all rules of Hawkeye Hotels as described in the employee Handbook.
24. Performs all other duties assigned

- No Experience Required. Prior hospitality experience preferred.

- must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

1. Responsible for the cash handling procedures, accurate processing of charges, and collection of payments.
2. Responsible for maintaining inventory reporting and accountability.
