Holiday Inn Austin Midtown is Hiring a Sales Manager Near Austin, TX


The Sales Manager position is responsible for generating top line revenue to meet or exceed budget expectations for this full-service hotel. The sales manager will join a team of sellers focusing on multiple markets such as Corporate, SMERF, Tour and Travel, intermediaries, etc. Other primary responsibilities include:
  • -Achieving monthly top line revenue goals and increasing the STAR market share of the hotel while maximizing customer satisfaction.
    -Comfortable and proficient in selling all market segments to include: SMERF, Corporate, Group, etc.
    -Pro-actively selling the hotel through in person appointments with customers, tele-prospecting, etc.
    -Participates in sales blitzes and utilizes available business tools to prospect for new business.
    -Evaluates potential business opportunities for the hotel and presents findings as necessary to the General Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing and Revenue Manager.
    -Gains contacts and business intelligence and shows community spirit through involvement in appropriate organizations.
    -Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through efforts (outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, etc.) to meet/exceed revenue goals.
    -Solicit new and repeat business through a proactive sales approach that incorporates consultative selling skills.
    -Cultivate and maintain relationships with key hotel personnel to enhance the overall business relationship with hotel.
    -Maintain detailed files, notes, records, and trace systems to ensure the meeting and event experience meet the customer's expectations.
    -Complete the contracts, prepare the appropriate paperwork, coordinate with the appropriate areas in the hotel and resolve any issues, complaints and problems to ensure a quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
    -Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate and hotel procedures, products and competition, including their strengths and weaknesses, to continually improve sales strategies and achieve goals.
    -Professional and positive communication to both guests and fellow associates.
    -Communicate any details/changes to all hotel departments, coordinating customer's needs with other property business and activities to ensure customer's expectations are met and the property operates efficiently.
    -Confirm revisions in agendas, room blocks, etc. and notify corresponding departments in a timely manner.
    -Be proficient on IHG and all systems.
    -Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future and repeat business.
    -Interacts effectively with all departments within the hotel to ensure guest satisfaction and a positive work environment.
    -Maintain account files in Delphi.fdc ensuring accurate communication between client and hotel staff.
    -Follow up appropriately with past appointments and report any issues and/or client inquiries to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
    -Flexibility to cross train in other hotel positions if needed.
    -Must be available to work a varied schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
    -Any, and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.
    -Ensures that he/she adheres to all sales administrative processes that are in place including preparation and submission of reports or internal communications and meets deadlines.
    -Builds strong relationships and loyalty with top producing clients and maintains professional integrity.
    -Salary Range-$50k-$70k.
