General Information: Hitachi Energy is seeking a Communications Specialist for the Grid Integration business in North America. The position is based in Raleigh, NC. The Grid Integration business is experiencing tremendous growth in accelerating the energy transition in North America through a variety of exciting projects across many industries including EV charging systems, high voltage direct current to integrate renewable energy sources, grid consulting, power quality solutions, semiconductors, and many other exciting offerings. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing internal and external communications plans and activities in North America to achieve the goals of the Grid Integration business. As a key member of the Grid Integration and North America Communications team, you will focus on supporting the local organization to drive thought leadership positioning, strategic initiatives through the development of content using optimal channels and format mix, targeting stakeholders to raise awareness of our innovative solutions and projects. This position requires close collaboration and alignment with the business unit and the North America corporate marketing and communications team, other business units, and local sales organizations to execute marketing activities and events that drive sales and increase market share. Your Responsibilities: Ensure strategic communications planning, seize opportunities and lead through challenging times. Oversee and execute all internal and external communications for the Grid Integration business in North America, with a high standard of personal excellence and a focus on continuous improvement. Help increase employee understanding and engagement in the business unit strategy by strengthening leadership and management communications. Work closely with the Grid Integration business and North America marketing and communications team to support communications strategy and programs, including organizational announcements, presentations, townhalls, speeches, webinars and other engagement activities. Lead the implementation of the digital transformation and scale-up strategy initiatives designed to optimize the way we work and our organizational culture. Ensure amplification of internal and external global campaigns, success stories, articles, press releases and other communications initiatives in North America Ensure consistent content creation and messaging, including writing and editing of general and technical media releases, speeches, and position papers. Facilitate brand awareness, brand consistency and implementation. Inspire stakeholder engagement through digital channels, including social media planning and execution to engage employees and build strong company culture. Be Hitachi Energy brand ambassador on social media and provide guidance to employees to attract talent Establish close and integrated cross-functional collaboration to promote internal programs and generate new ideas and approaches. Respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner. Understand and stay up to date on key trends related to our customers, partners, industries, regions and markets. Your Background: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or journalism. Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States. A minimum of 5-10 years of professional work experience in a communications environment. Excellent writing, editing and design skills. Fluent in English. Experience in content strategy within a B2B communications environment. Demonstrated creative execution across the full range of communications media and formats (short-form, long-form, web, social, video, audio/podcasting, infographics, PPT presentations, executive stage time, webinars, etc.). Preferably experienced in utilities, energy, transportation, and data centers. Marketing content development, editing, distribution, metrics measurement. Experience in working in a complex international matrix organization. Expertise in social media. Effective interpersonal skills in active listening and rapport-building at multiple levels of decision makers, including executive and senior management. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and deliver in a complex, fast-paced business environment. Well-developed organizing and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects at any one time. Knowledge of a second language will be considered a plus, but it’s not mandatory. Reside in Raleigh or willing to relocate.
