We are looking for Accounting Manager with great communication skills and a good understanding of US GAAP and SOX 404 compliance to join our rapidly growing finance team. The role will assist the VP of Finance with day to day operations and will also provide leadership and a strong technical accounting background to the accounting team.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

GENERAL LEDGER AND FINANCIAL REPORTING

• Support the preparation or review of journal entries, or other detail-oriented work as assigned
• Perform month - end and quarter - end accounting close procedures in NetSuite
• On a monthly basis, coordinate with the general accounting team to consolidate and perform monthly analysis over operating results, including budget versus actual, to be presented/discussed with management
• On a quarterly basis, prepare all comparative consolidated financial statements, including cash flow and stockholder’s equity, with attention to detail in relation to internal consistency and prior period continuity, in accordance with US GAAP
• Prepare high-level quarterly income statement and balance sheet analytics, comparing and documenting significant fluctuations between reporting periods in an MD&A format
• Work closely with the general accounting team to ensure appropriate classification of income statement and balance sheet transactions for proper financial statement presentation on an ongoing basis
• Stay informed on Regulation S-X and S-K requirements and apply to financial statement presentation and supporting footnote disclosures within quarterly and annual reports
• Prepare all required financial statement disclosures and review the disclosure checklist to ensure completeness, identifying new or updated disclosures that may impact the company in accordance with US GAAP

TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING

• Stay informed on new accounting guidance for applicability to the company, including disclosure requirements and best practices relating to ASC 606
• Work closely with the VP Finance to monitor ongoing and upcoming business transactions to identify any that require a technical accounting assessment or new corporate accounting procedures
• Perform technical research on identified business transactions as required, document and communicate findings, and integrate any accounting implications into the month-end close process
• Prepare documentation for the assessment and application of newly adopted accounting standards.

EQUITY MANAGEMENT

• Maintain equity rollforward and manage use of Certent, the company’s equity management solution
• Prepare/review all journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosures related to stock-based compensation and other stock issuance in accordance with ASC 718

OTHER

• Review crypto transactions and balances in Bitwave (crypto management solution) to ensure accuracy by performing reconciliation between Bitwave and custodian reports
• Work closely with the external and internal audit teams to provide supporting documents related to the quarterly and annual financial reporting process
• Develop new / enhance existing accounting policies and procedures, and internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
• Assist with special projects as requested by the VP Finance

Requirements

• 4 – 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years audit or consulting experience in a "Big 4" or national accounting firm
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting, and experience in the application of SOX 404
• Ability to perform independent accounting research and the subsequent framing and documentation of accounting issues along with the related conclusions
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple competing deadlines
• Able to work independently with minimal oversight
• Team player and comfortable working in fast-paced, growth environment

Compensation

• Competitive base salary plus up to 20% cash bonus and stock options.
