Medical Assistant needed for clinic in Baton Rouge, LA

Part-time

$20 -$22 per hour

Overview:

Performs all duties and responsibilities consistent with the MA role within the clinical, phlebotomy and procedure suite area. Works under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager and licensed RN and MD personnel.

Qualifications:

Education/Licensure:

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred
• Current MA registration or certification for the state of Louisiana

  Experience:

• 2 years of current experience working as a Medical Assistant in a medical office setting, preferred.

• In leiu of 2 years Medical Assistant experience, may substitute current clinical nursing school experience for a new LPN.

• Familiarity with and use of EMR systems.
• Good job stability/work history is highly desired.

Duties, including, but not limited to:

• Maintains efficient patient flow activities
• Performs routine procedures, for example, vital signs, height, weight, BMI
• Performs phlebotomy, specialty tests draws and processing
• Prepares patients for and assists with medical exams and specialty procedures such as: sonohystograms, ultrasounds, endometrial biopsies, HSGs
• Documents appropriate activities in medical records and other data collection sources
• Other related duties within a clinic environment as assigned
