Pay rate: $60,000-$65,000 annually

Location:  Tampa, FL

Summary:

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the company’s financial records are accurate and complete. This includes experience in reconciling banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, bank transfers and drafts. You should be able to identify, investigate and escalate (if necessary) reconciliation discrepancies. Also be able to support Controller and CFO as needed with financial reporting and/or analysis required to meet company objectives.

What you’ll be doing:

• Match and record incoming cash receipts to outstanding sales invoices based on customer remittances
• Produce weekly AR aging schedule with explanation of past due balances for management weekly
• Properly document all payments, discounts, collection efforts to accurately explain current AR/collection balances and efforts upon request of management
• Record and process all vendor invoices approved for payment
• Maintain record of capital expenses for projects including applicable purchase order information
• Process weekly ACH and check payments for management signature and approval
• Prepare year-end 1099’s
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements for consolidated entity and individual operating companies
• Work with Sr. Management to develop annual budget for consolidated entity and individual operating companies
• Prepare any necessary monthly and annual journal entries for accurate monthly financial reporting
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations for all payable, receivable, prepaid, and accrual accounts
• Maintain master record of all customers and vendors to include all necessary information required for processing and payment
• Assist operational staff and management with project support and any requested financial reports
• Maintain financial documentation to support any ongoing projects (capital expense, new product development) as needed by management
• Support Controller and CFO as needed with financial reporting and/or analysis required to meet company objectives

What you’ll need:

• Accounting Degree
• 3-5 years previous experience
• Business Central experience is a plus
• Knowledge of tax and financial reporting laws
• Strong analytical skills to locate and correct errors
• Demonstrated organizational skills to keep information from various accounts separate.
• Multitasking
• Time management skills to ensure that reports are completed, and payments are received on time
