**GENERAL OVERVIEW:**

Directs and monitors the preparation and distribution of food and nutrition services and assists in overall department operations.

**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Assists in steps necessary relative to hiring, evaluating, coaching, promoting and disciplining employees by following established HR policies. (15%)

* Directs daily work flow of department to maintain productivity and to ensure that time schedules are met. (30%)

* Maintains food safety and sanitation standards according to departmental and regulatory agency requirements. (20%)

* Monitors the quality and attractiveness of food served to patients and/or cafeteria and special functions to assure that it meets departmental standards. Responds to and resolves customer/patient issues. (15%)

* Reconciles money, computes transactions, replenishes cash, and banks daily receipts. (10%)

* Assists in cafeteria menu and special event planning and execution. (10%)

* Perform other duties as assigned or required.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

Minimum

* 4 years food service experience

Preferred

* Associate's Degree in related field

* Experience in a healthcare setting

* Food Safety Certification

* Management experience
