SUMMARY: The position of Tier I Technician contributes to the fulfillment of the District's Technology Services Goals; the mission of the Technology Services Department is to lead the technology initiatives of HSD while providing a high quality, dynamic technology environment. This position supports the mission of the District and the Academics and Operations Divisions by providing unparalleled service, comprehensive communications capabilities, and efficient use of resources which empowers students and staff to achieve and perform at their maximum potential.
A Tier I Technician performs first level problem resolution and technical assistance. This position receives support requests from peers or end users via the phone, in person or onsite. They troubleshoot inoperable computers and assists end users with configuration of district computers. A Tier I Technician installs hardware and software on district computers. They create and maintain documentation as well as create, maintain, and prioritize a list of work orders and/or tasks. Tier I Technicians must be able to communicate effectively, both in person and on the phone, with end users and other support staff. They are expected to perform other reasonable duties that may be assigned to meet the usual and unusual demands placed on the organization.

This is a term-limited position to support for the duration of the Department of Health's guidance to maintain 3-6 feet physical distancing between students during arrival, mealtimes, and recess, during the 2021-2022 school year. The eligibility for these funds may change at any time. An individual originally hired into this position, upon the end of funding, may be reassigned to an open vacancy, if eligible, per the Teamsters III collective bargaining agreement, under Article X. Additionally, this position is subject to Chapter 28A.413 RCW and WAC 179 which require completion of the Paraeducator Certificate Program and 14 hours of paid training per year as a condition of employment.
