SUMMARY: The Central Office Specialist is an accomplished teacher who serves in a leadership role at the system level. A specialist provides expert consultation through facilitating collaboration, instructional coaching, and serving as a system leader across a variety of roles. The Central Office Specialist sees their ongoing learning and development as essential to achieve equitable results for all students. Duties of the IEP Online and Safety Net Specialist:
Training new staff in use of IEP Online system and Special Education documentation compliance
Review of IEP’s for compliance and Safety Net reimbursement
Consultation with teachers in writing compliant IEP’s and best practices in Special Education
Collaboration with department specialists in developing standard’s aligned IEP goals
Serving as Special Education teacher and IEP writer transitioning in and out of Special Education contracted placements
Organizing yearly transitions for students moving between programs at the end of each school year
Coordination of yearly Special Education leaver survey
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
Up to 5 years of successful teaching experience in Special Education
Extensive experience with developing IEP’s, special education law and compliance
Familiarity with web based IEP Online system
Experience in leading teacher professional development
