HIGHLANDS RANCH COMMUNITY ASSOC is Hiring a Certified Tennis Instructor I Near Highlands, CO

Performs a variety of duties associated with the operation of the HRCA Tennis Program at the Tennis Pavilion and outdoor courts. Teaches on-court tennis programming including group and private lessons, drills, clinics, camps and other tennis programs. Works in conjunction with other tennis professionals and staff members to promote the tennis program and quality customer service. Supports the tennis desk model by providing information about on-court functions and needs; assists in the professional development of Tennis Aids.

Supervision Received: Works under the supervision of the Head Tennis Professional.

Supervision Exercised: None.

Examples of Duties: The following examples of duties are intended to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.

  • Implements Tennis programs in line with the HRCA’s mission and values. Ensures programs and procedures for teaching are in compliance with the HRCA recreation program guidelines and the direction set by the Head Tennis Professional.
  • Provides tennis programming including group and private lessons, leagues, clinics, camps, tournaments and socials as assigned.
  • Role-models tennis professionalism in dress, teaching style and direct customer service. In conjunction with the Head Tennis Professional trains the Tennis Aids to display a professional appearance, proper on-court behavior, ball feeding techniques, as well as appropriate drills, games and consistency in teaching the various tennis strokes.
  • Supports the tennis desk function. Provides information to clarify on-court functions, events, programs and fee collection; assists in the implementation of a customer service model that enhances positive communication and support for all customers, both internal and external.
  • Ensures the safety of tennis participants and staff members by implementing and monitoring procedures to meet safety guidelines/expectations.
  • Takes responsibility for safe use and maintenance of program equipment. Completes tasks to ensure that equipment is used properly and maintained.
  • Performs related duties as assigned and required.

Physical and Environmental Standards: Will be working in both an outdoor and indoor environment subject to climate changes. Must be able to run, walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, push or pull. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone and through face-to-face communication is needed. Vision requirements include near and far acuity. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move a maximum of 40 pounds unassisted and 60 pounds with assistance. EOE

Must be 18 years of age of older.Ability to teach tennis programs including group and private lessons, development programs, clinics, camps and socials for participants of all ages. Knowledge of tennis reservation systems and tennis desk procedures and customer service functions. Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks. Computer literate. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, with internal and external customers. Preferred certification is USPTR Instructor Level 1 or higher, acceptable certification is USPTA Level 2.

Must pass a drug and background screening.

Education: High School Diploma.

Experience:Two to three years of experience working with tennis programs

Salary: $22.00 - $27.87 per hour
