Job Title: Part-Time Nurse Practitioner for Maternal Fetal Medicine

Job Description:

We are inviting applications for a part-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) to be a part of our Maternal Fetal Medicine practice with locations in Phoenix and Peoria, AZ. The ideal candidate should have a robust understanding and experience in managing diabetes, particularly gestational diabetes, in addition to managing other maternal medical complications such as hypertension, asthma, and thyroid disorders. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality care to our pregnant patients, ensuring the health and safety of both the mothers and their unborn babies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diabetes Management: Oversee the management of gestational diabetes and type 1 or type 2 diabetes in pregnant patients. Responsibilities include monitoring blood glucose levels, adjusting medications, and providing dietary and lifestyle advice.

2. Handling Maternal Medical Complications: Assess, diagnose, and manage other maternal health issues like hypertension, asthma, and thyroid disorders during pregnancy.

3. Patient Education: Educate patients about their conditions, treatment plans, and self-management strategies to ensure a healthy pregnancy.

4. Collaborative Care: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients.

5. Follow-Up and Monitoring: Conduct regular follow-ups, adjust treatment plans as required, and monitor the progress.

6. Documentation and Compliance: Keep accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations and privacy laws.

7. Location Flexibility: The NP will be sharing time between our two locations in Phoenix and Peoria, AZ, based on the needs of the practice and the patients.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) and a valid Nurse Practitioner license.

• Demonstrated experience in managing diabetes in pregnancy.

• Previous experience in maternal fetal medicine or a related field is highly preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
