Jacksonville, FL-based Management Company that supports affiliated companies in manufacturing, retail, and real estate industries. We are looking to grow our accounting team with an accountant who is looking to develop their skills and grow their career through hands-on learning within a dynamic entrepreneurial environment.

The accountant is a pivotal role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and timely reporting upon which management makes business decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain financial reports, records and general ledger accounts in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and department procedures.
• Prepare journal entries, financial analysis and account reconciliations for assigned accounts and/or business units.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounting records, and disconnects between business processes and accounting records.
• Assist accounting management to support department and business goals.
• Assist in the compilation and response to information requests from the business and audit.
• Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or Associate Degree with 3 years’ experience
• Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge with emphasis in Excel
• Work ethic that drives on-time completion of duties
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with an attention to detail and accuracy, an ability to multi-task and continuous improvement mindset
• A high level of personal and professional integrity
• Ability to work independently and within team groups to successfully accomplish tasks and goals
• Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principals
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Familiarity with cost accounting and inventory methodology is a plus
