Staff Accountant

This innovative, supportive financial services company is on a mission to improve the way people retire. They are seeking a Staff Accountant to join their rapidly growing team. In this role, you will perform monthly billing and accounts receivable functions, handle revenue reporting & projections, complete monthly close responsibilities (journal entries, consolidation, balance sheet reconciliations, P&L reporting), prepare & code vendor invoice payments, and reconcile the accounts payable trial balance & bank accounts. You will also support the annual budgeting, forecasting, and customer collections processes. This is a full-time, permanent position and the chosen candidate will work a hybrid schedule out of the Jacksonville, Chicago, or Dallas offices.
Requirements
Must Haves

• Demonstrated proficiency with debits, credits, and conducting variance analyses on financial statements
• Background using an accounting tool to reconcile general ledger to sub ledgers, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR)
• Proven experience managing accounts receivable (billing/invoicing and properly recording) and debiting receivables on the balance sheet
• Familiarity with month-end close responsibilities including consolidation, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and profit & loss (P&L) reporting
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills including ability to format and create formulas, PivotTables, and LOOKUP functions (V&H)
• Excellent work ethic with capacity to work extended hours as needed during month-end close or other busy times
• Excellent communication (written & verbal), analytical, and documentation skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
