Hgs Engineering is Hiring an EHS Specialist Near Boston, MA

COMPANY OVERVIEW: HGS Engineering, Inc., is a professional services consulting firm providing comprehensive environmental, engineering, health/safety, emergency management, and information technology support to the federal government and private clients. ROLE: Safety Specialist
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field (minimum)
  • 1-2 Years' Experience in General Industry Safety
  • Ability to gain industry specific certifications over time (e.g., CSP, CHMM, etc.)
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES/SKILLS:
  • Highly analytical and organized
  • Ability to learn and work independently
DESCRIPTION: The Safety Specialist is generally responsible for:
  • performing Occupation Safety and Health inspections at various government facilities;
  • generating reports in a timely and accurate manner; and
  • performing other related duties as assigned.
TRAVEL: 25-50%
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Willingness to travel by air and ground (as required)
  • Not eligible for employment sponsorship
  • Capable of spending long days on your feet for hours at a time (field work)
  • Ability to walk a multi-level, multi-building facility campus with limited breaks (field work)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Capable of sitting at a desk and using a computer for long periods of time (report generation)
