Accounts Manager
Job Summary
The Accounts Manager’s primary responsibility is to collect and accurately reflect accounts receivable of the facility.
Education
High School diploma required. Health care accounting and/or billing experience preferred, but not required.
Qualifications
1. Must have some accounting experience
2. Must have computer skills
3. Must be able to type and use other office equipment
4. Maintains effective interpersonal relationships and works well with the general public.
5. Is of good emotional, mental and physical health having sound judgment and high professional standards
6. Has ability to work well with the general public
7. Has ability to meet and deal with a variety of employees, residents and relatives
8. Is courteous in working with residents, families and employees
9. Maintains a neat, well-groomed and professional appearance at all times
10. Has a desire to work with the geriatric clientele as well as residents of any age and their current prospective activity and interest needs
11. Must be willing to be in and/or available to the facility weekends as well as weekdays.
12. Considerable initiative and judgment is needed in promoting favorable public relations
13. Must be sociable, courteous and have a memory for details
14. Must have a pre-employment and an annual Tuberculosis screening examination as required by the state the Accounts Manager is employed.
Responsibilities
The Accounts Manager works with the Administrator to assure the following responsibilities are accomplished. This list is only partial and should not be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory

of all duties, tasks and responsibilities
1. Handles resident billing and collection per prescribed procedures
2. Records facility census information daily
3. Is familiar with insurance coverage on residents in order to channel their medical bills and supplies
4. Handles Resident Trust Fund duties as assigned
5. Relates knowledgeable information regarding admission requirements and rates
6. Is familiar with the admission folder and admission procedure for new admissions
7. Enters pertinent information regarding new residents into the computer
8. Has working knowledge of all office procedures and systems
9. Answers the telephone as needed
10. Promotes effective work relationships with the administrator, medical staff, personnel, volunteers, agencies, and management staff affiliated with the facility.
11. Attends and participates in facility meetings.
12. Participates in Quality Assessment and Improvement Program
13. Participates in Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Program
14. Reports immediately to supervisor and administrator situations involving abuse, neglect, or suspicion of a crime.
15. Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, HIPPA Standard, and
Computer Usage Agreement.
16. Other duties as assigned by the Administrator
Professional Requirements
1. Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
2. Completes educational requirements per policy.
3. Maintains regulatory requirements.
4. Occasional travel/overnights required for training, professional meetings, emergencies, and evacuations.
5. Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
6. Wears identification while on duty.
7. Must work throughout all areas of the facility.

8. Completes work in designated time frames.

Requires full range of body motion including:
1. Standing/Walking: Frequently. Worker will be spending considerable time up and about in the facility doing various tasks per job description. Carrying records, filing, sorting supplies.
2. Bending/Stooping: Frequently. Worker will be bending or stooping to work with supplies, preparation of documents, filing, working with clinical records, etc.
3. Lifting Handling: Occasionally. Worker will be lifting/handling supplies to do inventory, restock, ordering, as well as filing and stocking. Range of weight:
1-50 pounds. Carrying records, filing, sorting supplies.
4. Carrying: Occasionally. Worker will be carrying manuals and supplies, etc.

5. Pushing/Pulling: Occasionally. Worker will be pushing/pulling on various supplies storing, moving, carrying records, filing, sorting supplies. Range of weight: 1-50 pounds.
6. Balancing: Frequently. Worker will be balancing supplies to be stored, moved from storage to using area. Carrying records, filing, sorting supplies.
7. Pivoting/Turning: Frequently. Worker will be pivoting and turning to stock supplies, handle records, carrying records, filing, sorting. supplies.
8. Crouching/Stooping: Frequently. Worker will be crouching/stooping to assist with . carrying records, filing, sorting supplies
9. Kneeling: Occasionally. Worker will be kneeling to assist with carrying records, filing, sorting supplies.
10. Reaching Carrying records, filing, sorting supplies.
A. Greater than shoulder height: Occasionally.
B. Equal to shoulder height: Occasionally.
C. Less than shoulder height: Occasionally.
11. Manual Dexterity: Continuously. Worker will be using fine and gross motor dexterity skills in all of job requirements.
12. Speaking/Hearing Continuously. Worker must be able to communicate with
Seeing: co-workers, residents, families, public, etc. Face to face as well as in telephone communication.
Job Location
Must work throughout all nursing areas of the facility. May require working irregular hours and may be exposed to communicable diseases and/or body fluids, medical preparations, toxic substances and occasionally ionizing radiation. Occasional travel/overnights for training, professional meetings, emergencies and evacuations.
