Heilind/DB Roberts/Mil-Aero is Hiring a Cable Assembler II Near Lumberton, NJ

Summary: Assists Manager and Production Team Leaders in the introduction of new assemblies, processes, and continual quality improvement in the overall manufacturing operation to better serve our customers. Assembles all levels of electronic cable assemblies, components, subassemblies, products, or systems by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Confers with Leaders and reviews production schedules, specifications, and priorities to plan department work.
  • Assists workers in resolving technical problems and advises Leaders of complex production problems.
  • Substitutes for absent workers or assists workers to alleviate work overload situations.
  • Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Wraps and ties wires together at designated points to form harness.
  • Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Works safely with small tools such as knives, cutters, screw drivers, wrenches, and wire-strippers.
  • Attaches ends of wires to components, plugs, or terminal strip.
  • Inserts cable in plastic tubing or injects plastic sealant around terminals to protect cable from dust and moisture.
  • Capable of potting assemblies by using a mold and filing with an insulating liquid compound
  • Tests wiring continuity with continuity tester.
  • Marks identifying data on completed harness.
  • Uses cable testing equipment to troubleshoot problems.
  • Attaches & tests fiber optic terminal connectors.
  • Performs inspection processes according to documented process criteria.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
  • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel.
  • Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points
  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
  • Learns and applies new and specialized assembly techniques to the highest levels of the business.
  • Ability to instruct and train individuals or groups on various levels of documented cable assembly processes.
  • Complying with all TREK Policies as defined in the TREK Employee Handbook.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Experience:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Ability to write simple correspondence.
