Heiberg Garbage & Recycling, LLC is Hiring a Customer Service Rep Near Portland, OR

About us:

Heiberg Garbage & Recycling is looking for a full time, in-person customer service representative to add to our residential team. We are a family owned and operated company that has been in business since 1947. Our commercial routes run in almost all areas of Portland, while our residential routes are in designated Portland neighborhoods. We value honesty, dependability, and teamwork. Currently, we have multiple generations of our family working in the business, both in the office and on the trucks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Our CSR's wear many hats, but the most important one for this job is the ability to multitask while answering phone calls and using our unique routing computer software to help the customer on the phone. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Starting new accounts
  • Stopping current accounts
  • Changing service levels
  • Handling missed services/pickups whether driver or customer error
  • Billing disputes
  • Daily data entry
  • Payments
  • Driver logbooks
  • Disposal tickets

*Attention detail is a must.

*Hours are 7:45AM to 4:15pm Monday through Friday.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Excellent telephone and in-person communication skills with customers and all coworkers
  • Computer proficiency including Word, Excel, and Google Maps
  • Knowledge of the different areas/neighborhoods of Portland
  • Typing skills of no less than 25 words per minute
  • 10 Key skills
  • Be able to work in a sometimes fast paced & loud environment in an open office layout
  • Understanding and follow company rules and policies
  • Must like dogs as our family dogs come to the office everyday

Pay & Benefits:

  • Starting pay at $22.95/hour with room for advancement if successfully cross trained to other departments
  • Medical, dental, vision insurance (Medical is 100% paid by company for employee)
  • Paid Holidays
