Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance to individuals, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Administer medication reminders as directed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with mobility and transfers
- Engage in companionship activities and provide emotional support
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Follow all HIPAA regulations to ensure client privacy and confidentiality
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as nurses and social workers, to coordinate care plans
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure their dignity is respected
Skills:
- Experience in dementia care is highly desired
- Proficient in meal preparation and following dietary restrictions
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and adherence to privacy practices
- Familiarity with basic nursing procedures, such as taking vital signs
- Understanding of social work principles and effective communication techniques
- Ability to provide compassionate care for individuals of all ages, including children and seniors
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Previous experience in home care or patient care is preferred
