**Wholesale Sales Representative**

**Wholesale - Lakeville, MN - Full Time**

Bachmans was founded in 1885 and remains a family-owned business, with fifth-generation Bachman family members leading the company today. Bachmans operates six full-service Floral, Gift & Garden Centers throughout the Twin Cities, a shop in the Galleria, a Hardscapes Center in Farmington, and 28 floral departments within Lunds & Byerlys grocery stores. Additionally, Bachmans operates indoor and outdoor landscaping divisions, a weddings and special events department, a wholesale nursery division, seven acres of greenhouses, and a 670-acre growing range in Lakeville, Minn., which produces many of the plants, flowers, and landscaping products sold by Bachmans today.

This position will represent Bachmans horticultural product lines for wholesale sales and service.

Job Duties:

* Sell nursery wholesale products and conduct related sales & customer service activities in a highly professional manner.

* Receive, book and acknowledge called-in orders.

* Solicit wholesale orders via telephone and/or in-person, advertise promotions, specials, etc.

* Invite and arrange nursery tours and meetings with wholesale customers and new leads.

* Effectively complete and submit bid requests and other necessary paperwork in a timely manner.

* Represent Bachmans at Trade Shows and other sales promoting activities, this will require overnight travel.

* Provide work direction to staff in overall sales/marketing effort. (These and related sales activities will require a certain degree of discretion and independent judgment.)

* Bring Bachman's 3 Big Words (Connected, Inspired and Easy) to life for customer service.

* Perform other duties as directed. This may include projects or a particular area of work. Existing examples include things such as logistics, marketing, buying or other ongoing activates needed to support Wholesale sales or operations.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in horticulture or related field required. (Degree requirement may be waived in lieu of two-year horticulture certificate and/or equivalent work experience.)

* Five years nursery/landscape experience required.

* MNLA Nursery Professional Certification preferred.

* Excellent working knowledge of landscape plant materials and hardgoods required.

* Exceptional written, verbal, and persuasive communication skills required.

* Must be able to work independently, with minimal daily supervision.

* Strong drive for achievement, sales performance, and strong, effective customer service required.

* Must have good interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and a demonstrated ability to work as a team player.

* Ability to recognize and identify pest and disease problems.

Schedule:

* M-F 7:30-4:00 Spring 7:30-5:00 Sat 8:00-12:00 Additional hours as needed.
