Job DescriptionPrimary Duties and Responsibilities: Meet or exceed monthly sales goals, anticipating any challenges, and working with leadership to determine strategies to overcome possible shortfalls. Develop new customers by generating interest that results in a multi-faceted, long term advertising campaign. Prepare and conduct presentations to new and prospective customers, centered in client need and conveying market research, competitive landscape, media consumption preferences, product recommendation, and next steps. Conduct business between Hearst and clients according to established protocol, maintaining integrity in all aspects of the business relationship. Maintain a 90-day pipeline that will meet or exceed revenue ramp models. Track all sales activity in sales force. Strategize new products and approaches with sales and marketing leadership with client need and feedback at the center. Adhere to established advertising deadlines. Respond to all customer concerns in a timely manner. Arrive at scheduled appointments on time. Attend weekly sales meetings, trainings and 1x1s prepared and on time. Attend community and professional events. Perform other duties as requested by leadership.Administrative Duties: Accurately complete all sections of Hearst insertion order form prior to submission. Document pertinent information related to ongoing advertising contracts, ensuring adherence to terms outlined in the contract. Review history and ensure customer has paid previous balances prior to accepting new ad orders. Approve proposed account adjustments with advertising manager prior to issuing a credit memo to accounting.Education, Training and Skills Required: College degree or equivalent experience required. Minimum of 3-5 years previous outside sales experience required, with specific media sales experience highly desirable. Must be computer savvy. Experience in conceptual selling and delivering compelling proposals preferred. Experience working with a profit and loss statement or managing a business preferred.Personal Profile: Possess high degree of business and personal integrity. Organized, efficient and driven to meet deadlines and goals. Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and managers. Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Good math skills and the ability to compute advertising price quotes while conveying the value. Good verbal and written communication skills, including spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
