Job Summary: As the Fitness Center Manager, you will oversee and execute the daily operations of the facility under direction from your Federal Manager. Your responsibilities will include managing site hours, welcoming new members, conducting fitness center orientations, leading group fitness sessions, ensuring regular equipment maintenance, offering exercise guidance, and creating and implementing member programming such as team or individual fitness challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of two health fitness specialists, including scheduling and task allocation. Conduct annual performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
• Coordinate on-site and virtual programming based on guidance from the Federal Occupational Health (FOH).
• Develop, review, and present accurate fitness-related materials such as newsletters, communications, and handouts.
• Prepare and submit reports as required, including membership tracking, utilization data, program summaries, and equipment maintenance updates.
• Manage budget expenses, including purchases, staff schedules, instructor classes, and maintain accurate expense reports.
• Maintain necessary documents such as AED and first aid checklists, cleaning schedules, and equipment maintenance logs.
• Schedule quarterly preventive maintenance for equipment and maintain maintenance logs.
• Promptly report facility and maintenance issues, tracking them until resolution.
• Keep detailed equipment inventory records, including purchase dates, model and serial numbers, and quantities.
• Develop exercise programs in line with current exercise science standards to improve participant fitness levels.
• Act decisively in medical emergencies, activating Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and administering CPR and AED when necessary.
• Provide guidance on correct equipment usage and exercise routines.
• Recommend strategies to increase physical activity levels among participants.
• Interpret participant data to evaluate progress and adjust programs as needed.
• Prescribe individualized exercise programs, specifying appropriate equipment and routines.
• Provide oversight for exercise participants across all risk levels.
• Explain exercise programs and physiological testing procedures to participants.
• Meet the physical requirements of the position, including CPR proficiency, immediate emergency response, equipment demonstration, group fitness instruction, and lifting up to 50 pounds, without accommodation and free from communicable diseases.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of one year of management experience in a corporate fitness or health club setting, with at least one year of supervisory experience if the role involves supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a minimum of three years’ experience in exercise physiology, corporate fitness, wellness, health promotion, or a related field.
• Current certification in group fitness or personal training from a nationally accredited organization.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Salary Range: $70,720 - $76,960
