Healing Hope Community, Inc. is Hiring a Quality and Compliance Manager - LCSW-C, LCPC, LCMFT, LCPAT, PsyD Near Baltimore, MD

Healing Hope Community, Inc. (HHCI) is one of Maryland’s newest non-profit mental health organizations. HHCI prides itself in being a clinician-led organization committed to strengthening and enhancing the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges in the community. We also aspire to be a leading non-profit mental health organization that prioritizes the needs of our clients and personnel, which ultimately places everyone in a position to be successful and thrive in their environments.

HHCI has begun its search for a Quality and Compliance Manager (QCM) who will initially be hired as a part-time 1099 independent contractor. As the organization grows, the QCM will have the option to join the team full-time with benefits. This position is currently remote, but will require the contractor to report to the office (located in Baltimore, MD), as needed. This need will be determined and communicated to the contractor by the CEO.

Position Summary: The QCM is responsible for ensuring the overall quality and compliance of the organization, and all programs operated by the organization. All quality and compliance efforts and activities are guided by the standards and regulations outlined by the state of Maryland’s Behavioral Health Administration (BHA), Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR), The Joint Commission (TJC), and all funding sources for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Familiarize with all policies, standards, and regulations established by the BHA, COMAR, TJC, and all funding sources
  • Conduct audits of the clinical charts on the electronic health record weekly
  • Meet and collaborate with the supervisors of all programs providing direct services to HHCI clients to discuss quality and compliance needs
  • Meet and collaborate with HHCI’s billing department for billing auditing and compliance purposes
  • Meet and collaborate with other departments, including human resources, information technology, and all other pertinent departments to discuss applicable ethics and compliance standards, and serve as a compliance resource
  • Research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practices relevant to the support provided to HHCI clients
  • Conduct quality and compliance trainings, including the training of new hires and refresher trainings for existing staff
  • Chair at least one internal committee, and participate in internal committees within the organization as determined by the CEO
  • Conduct unscheduled quality calls to clients served to monitor quality of care, consumer satisfaction, and program compliance.
  • Receive compliance reports, including client grievances, and reports of fraud, waste, and abuse, maintain the anonymity of personnel submitting confidential reports, and investigate the reports
  • Establish and amend policies and procedures for the organization in collaboration with the CEO
  • Oversee all quality assurance activities and operations of the quality and compliance department
  • Prepare for, attend, and facilitate quality and compliance meetings
  • Make recommendations for quality and compliance improvement to the CEO
  • Conduct planned and unplanned risk assessments (frequency to be determined by the CEO)
  • Perform other duties as requested by the CEO

Required Qualifications:

-Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Public Administration (MPA), Public Health (MPH), Psychology, or a related field

*Wherever applicable, the master’s or doctoral program must be an accredited program

-A minimum of a year of quality improvement/quality assurance experience with organizations serving the mental/behavioral health population

- A minimum of a year of experience working for/supporting an outpatient program accredited by The Joint Commission, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), COA, or ACHC

-Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access), electronic health records, and the use of computers/laptops

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong preference for-

-Licensed mental health professionals including: LMSW, LGPC, LGFMT, LGPAT, LCSW (provisionally-licensed professionals must be working towards independent licensure), or LCSW-C, LCPC, LCMFT, LCPAT, PsyD

-Supervisory experience.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
