Job Title: Guest Services Host

Reports to: Program Manager

Status: Non-exempt

Salary: Dependent on Qualifications

Position Summary:

The Guest Host Service team member shall assist all WEHC staff, residents and volunteers in the pursuit and goal of Heading Home’s mission which is to make experiences of homelessness rare, short-lived, and non-recurring.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of a Guest Services Host include:

• Overall reports to the Program Manager.
• Maintain accurate records of guest rosters.
• Maintain accurate count of open beds and verify bed availability with SSA’s.
• Assist new clients with the intake process.
• Assist Program Manager with suspension list.
• Check in each guest individually.
• Conduct new guest orientation.
• Keep an updated record of all entries and exits daily.
• Keep an organized and clear process of resident’s information.
• Maintain confidentiality of all residents.

The responsibility of all Heading Home employees includes the following:

• Always represent and promote Heading Home in a positive and professional manner.
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality in keeping with Heading Home Policies.
• Attend all staff and organizational meetings as required.
• Observe and practice safe work habits and practices in compliance with regulations, statutes and organizational policies.
• Maintain client, resident, guest and organizational confidentiality in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Read, understand and comply with all guidelines of the Heading Home Employee Handbook.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, must be able to think strategically, act quickly and must work well with others across a broad spectrum of situations. Prior experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and mental illness is highly desired. Additionally, prior front desk or reception experience is preferred.

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
• CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of employment.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum high school diploma or GED is required.
• Practical experience working with people in customer service, reception, or a related field is required.
• Minimum one year experience working with the underserved and unhoused population is preferred.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
