HB Global LLC is Hiring a Construction Estimator Near Mechanicsburg, PA

HB McClure is a full mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractor in the Central PA area. We're currently seeking an Estimator to join our Special Projects division. This role is responsible for analyzing the costs of construction projects and preparing an estimate for assigned project work. They will work to build positive relationships with customers to ensure repeat business, develop new accounts, and provide all the information necessary for the customer to make an informed decision regarding their needs.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A CANDIDATE:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in English
  • Solid understanding of mechanical equipment and systems to include boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, generators and electrical.
  • Basic understanding of the fundamentals of construction costs and resource management
  • Minimum of 3 years of field work experience in a related industry; Plumbing or HVAC license is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Highly organized, detail oriented with the ability to set and achieve project goals
  • Ability to prioritize and self-manage to ensure timely completion of all duties and tasks
  • Possess proficiency with MS Office and other industry related software such as FastEST and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in English
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade/technical school or prior work experience
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record required.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment criminal background and drug screening.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Gather information relative to the estimation and execution of a project’s scope of work, as discussed with the Design/Build team and customer.
  • Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labor, and equipment for projects, based on contract bids, quotes, schematic drawings and specifications
  • Provide timeline input for the completion of the estimate
  • Conduct onsite inspections to gather information and document any owner specific requirements and/or activities within and around the projected work area, contractor access, contractor storage areas, potential safety concerns, type of lifts required, crane access, etc.
  • Communicate scope of work and pricing expectation with customers
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and teammates when creating proposals/estimates
  • Procure material and equipment, setup jobs, and input data into estimate templates
  • Maintain documentation for estimates in an organized fashion
  • Maintain knowledge of the trades, enough to assist clients in product and application solutions
