Haz Mat Special Services, LLC is Hiring an Operations Manager Near Midland, TX

Job Summary: Emergency Response Operations Manager is responsible for the operation on a twenty-four hour per day basis. - Performs advanced administrative, supervisory, and technical work, supporting and assisting in the daily operations of the department; participates in the organization, planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring of all Emergency Management programs; performs difficult and advanced duties in disaster preparedness planning and is responsible for coordinating specific phases of Emergency Management. This position is required to complete other duties as assigned. These duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with the compilation of documentation and records.

Job Duties:

  • Initiates and manages grants to enhance emergency management programs and activities
  • Develops, updates, monitors, assists, and delivers department plans where necessary
  • Strategizes process improvements to ensure everyone completes their tasks on schedule
  • Assist HR with recruiting when necessary.
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
  • Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
  • Support worker communication with the management team

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:

  • Operations, services and activities of an emergency services and disaster relief program.
  • Principles and practices of supervision and training.
  • Public safety response and coordination.
  • Disaster management and recovery.
  • Principles and practices of emergency service program development and implementation.
  • Concepts of emergency activities at various levels of government.
  • Recent developments, current literature and information related to emergency preparedness and disaster relief.
  • Modern office equipment including computers and applicable software applications.
  • Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and safety regulations.

Ability to:

  • Develop, manage, and coordinate emergency preparedness and disaster relief programs.
  • Supervise and monitor the work of assigned staff. Recommend and implement goals and objectives for providing emergency services and training.
  • Respond to field emergencies and coordinate the response of City resources in significant emergency operations.
  • Write and revise emergency plans.
  • Operate office equipment including computers and supporting word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Respond to requests and inquiries from the public.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Education/Training:

  • Some college preferred.

Experience:

  • Five years of increasingly responsible experience coordinating emergency services.

License or Certificate:

  • Possession of, a valid driver’s license.

Environment:

  • Office and field environment; travel from site to site.

Physical:

  • Sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting and operate office equipment; to perform light to moderate lifting and carrying.
  • Standing, walking, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Mobility to operate an Emergency Operations Center, operating motorized vehicles.
